Channel 4’s examination of the implications of AI, set in the near future, is an eerie treat, the fate of several rogue ‘Synths’ working both as thriller and despite’in spite of’albeit tful, even touching exploration of what ‘being’ means. Arguably more compelling when it is raising questions than answering them, this is still one of the freshest British dramas in years.
